The Challenge
Heritage Fund, the community foundation of Bartholomew County, Indiana, sought to revitalize its online presence to better serve donors, grant applicants, scholarship seekers, and community members. The primary objectives were to create an engaging, user-friendly website that effectively communicates the foundation’s mission to inspire generosity, cultivate community leaders, and ensure Bartholomew County is an exceptional place to live, learn, work, and play. Enhancing accessibility to information about grants, scholarships, and donation opportunities was essential to foster deeper community involvement and support.
Brand Discovery
An in-depth brand discovery process was undertaken to align the website with Heritage Fund’s core values and objectives. This involved analyzing existing materials, mission statements, and gathering feedback from stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of the foundation’s identity. Recognizing Heritage Fund’s role as a catalyst for positive change and its commitment to building a legacy of giving informed the development of a design strategy that resonates with their diverse audience.
Web Design
The design phase focused on creating a modern, intuitive, and responsive website that embodies Heritage Fund’s dedication to community enrichment. Key design elements included a clean and professional layout, easy-to-read typography, and a cohesive color scheme that reflects trust and community spirit. The navigation was structured to allow users to effortlessly explore sections such as Donation Opportunities, Grants, Scholarships, Areas of Impact, and News. Emphasis was placed on accessibility, ensuring that all users, regardless of their technical proficiency, can easily access and benefit from the site’s content.
Development
The development process prioritized functionality, performance, and scalability. The website was built on a robust Content Management System (CMS), enabling Heritage Fund’s team to efficiently manage and update content. The site is fully responsive, providing an optimal viewing experience across various devices, from desktops to mobile phones. Integration of features such as online donation forms, grant application portals, and event calendars was implemented to enhance user engagement and streamline operations. Adherence to industry best practices in web development ensured a secure, fast, and reliable platform that can grow alongside Heritage Fund’s expanding initiatives.
Additionally, a key aspect of the development was the implementation of a member management system by integrating Novi AMS. This integration allows paid users to access premium content seamlessly. By leveraging Novi AMS, I ensured that exclusive resources and premium content are accessible only to authorized users, enhancing the value proposition for CLOC’s paying members.
